Seattle, WA | multifamily residential rehabilitation | 10 apartments | 9,000 sf
Belmont is a complete rehabilitation of a 1966 apartment building in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The rehabilitation extended the life of a background building with good bones—a long-time piece of the neighborhood fabric. The project modernized and refreshed the building inside and out while preserving its original footprint. Work included complete interior redesign of the ten original units and comprehensive envelope upgrades throughout the building.
The original two-bedroom apartments were reconfigured to add a second bathroom and updated kitchens, bathrooms, fixtures and finishes. New building cladding, a new exterior stair and ramp—making the building ADA accessible to the ground floor—high-efficiency systems and energy upgrades brought the building into compliance with current codes and building performance goals.
